Screen recordings
Frame a screen recording
Frames can frame screen recordings as well as screenshots. The recording plays inside the device, on your background, and you can export it as a video or a GIF.
#Add a screen recording
- On iPhone or iPad: Tap the Add Project button, then tap Open Screen Recording and choose a recording. You can also tap Open File to choose a video in the Files app.
- On Mac: Click the Add Project button in the toolbar, choose Open File, then choose a video. You can also choose File > Open.
Frames copies the recording in and opens it in the editor, matched to the device that recorded it. See How Frames matches your device.
Importing a recording and playing it back in a device frame is free.
#What you can change
A recording project has the same Frame, Canvas, Background and Shadow controls as a screenshot, with a few exceptions:
- App Store canvas sizes aren’t offered, because App Store app previews use a different specification.
- Rows of several devices and Override Orientation aren’t available.
To play the recording, see Play it back. To export it, see Export as a video or GIF.
