About App Store screenshot sizes
App Store Connect accepts screenshots only at specific sizes. Frames can make them at Apple’s exact pixels, so they upload without resizing.
#The sizes Frames makes
Apple asks for the largest size on each platform and scales it down for smaller devices itself, so Frames offers one size per platform:
| Platform | Size (pixels) |
|---|---|
| iPhone | 1320 × 2868 |
| iPad | 2064 × 2752 |
| Mac | 2880 × 1800 |
| Apple Watch Ultra 3 | 422 × 514 |
| Apple Watch Series 10 and 11 | 416 × 496 |
| Apple Watch Ultra 2 | 410 × 502 |
| Apple Watch Series 8 and 9 | 396 × 484 |
For Apple Watch, Apple lists one size per family, and Frames picks the one that matches the shape of the watch you’re framing, whichever case size it is.
#Make App Store screenshots
-
Open a project, then choose the App Store size in the Canvas menu. See Set the canvas size.
-
Use Zoom and Vertical to place the device, for example lower down to leave room for a caption. See Zoom and position.
-
Share or save the image.
To make a full set that matches, put the projects in a Group, then use Sync Style. An App Store size becomes the right size for each project’s device. See Sync Style across a Group.
#Things to know
- App Store sizes are always exported at full size, with or without Frames Pro.
- App Store screenshots can’t be transparent, so a transparent background is exported on white.
- App Store sizes aren’t available for screen recordings, because App Store app previews have their own requirements, or for rows of several devices.
