Set the canvas size
The canvas is the whole image you export: the device and the background around it. You can choose its shape, or one of Apple’s exact App Store screenshot sizes.
#Choose a shape
-
In the editor, go to the Canvas section. On iPhone, tap Format first.
-
Choose a shape from the Canvas menu: 9:16, 3:4, 1:1, 16:9 or 4:3.
New projects start at 1:1 unless your Start From setting says otherwise. See Choose how new projects start.
When you show several devices in a row, only shapes wide enough for them are offered. See Show several devices in a row.
#Use an App Store size
In the Canvas menu, choose the App Store size listed under App Store. Frames offers the one size that suits the device you’re framing:
| Device | App Store size (pixels) |
|---|---|
| iPhone | 1320 × 2868 |
| iPad | 2064 × 2752 |
| Mac | 2880 × 1800 |
| Apple Watch | The size for that watch’s family, such as 416 × 496 |
App Store sizes are always exported at Apple’s exact pixels, with or without Frames Pro. App Store screenshots can’t be transparent, so a transparent background is exported on white.
App Store sizes aren’t available for screen recordings or rows of several devices. To learn more, see About App Store screenshot sizes.
#Place the device on the canvas
Use Zoom, Vertical and Horizontal to size and place the device on any canvas. See Zoom and position.
